New Opportunities for Victorian Cybersecurity Companies

Global Victoria, the trade facilitation agency of the state, has called for applications from Victorian cybersecurity companies to participate in its USA Cybersecurity Trade Program 2025. This initiative is designed to help companies establish a foothold in the competitive US market by offering tailored support and resources. With the US recognized as the top export destination for Victorian cybersecurity firms, the program provides a crucial platform for businesses to promote their services and gain valuable market insights.

The cybersecurity sector in the US continues to expand, with federal civilian agencies set to receive a 10% increase in their cybersecurity budgets for 2025, amounting to $12.33 billion. Recognizing this growth, Global Victoria aims to connect local companies with opportunities in the US, fostering trade and collaboration.

Program Benefits and Support

The USA Cybersecurity Trade Program offers a range of benefits to participating companies. Successful applicants will receive access to a US-based industry consultant who will evaluate their business needs, help define objectives, and arrange at least three high-quality business matching meetings. Additionally, Global Victoria will provide one complimentary pass to a major US conference or trade event, facilitating networking and visibility.

As part of the program, companies will also be granted a one-year membership to a relevant US industry or geography-based association. For five selected Victorian companies, Global Victoria will cover the A$2000 participation fee for Austrade’s 2025 RSA Conference Program, scheduled for April 28. These benefits are designed to provide the tools and connections needed to penetrate the US market effectively.

Cybersecurity Trade Program Eligibility and Deadlines

Victorian companies actively expanding into the US within the next six to twelve months are encouraged to apply. Those with a clear export strategy established US customers or partners, and demonstrated market traction are particularly suited for the program. Applicants must be willing to travel to the US or have a representative available in the market.

While Global Victoria offsets many costs, participants are expected to cover travel and incidental expenses themselves. Interested companies should submit their applications by midnight on February 2, 2025. This initiative offers a significant opportunity for Victorian cybersecurity businesses to leverage the growing demand in the US and solidify their presence in an expanding market.
