Attack of Militants in ‘Idlib’ Province of Syria, 11 Soldiers killed
In Syria, 11 soldiers were killed in separate attacks by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham Group (HTS) in Idlib province.

According to a foreign newspaper, HTS fired shells and rockets at a Syrian military post near Kafr Rumah in Idlib province, killing 8 soldiers. The report further stated that 3 Syrian soldiers were killed by sniper fire near Kafr Nabal in the same province. The head of HTS is a former member of Al-Qaeda.
Syrian state media did not immediately issue a report on the matter.
According to the report, almost half of the northwestern province of Idlib and the neighboring provinces of Aleppo, Hama, and Latakia are dominated by HTS and other rebel factions. Idlib province is home to 3 million people, nearly half of whom have been displaced.
Rami Abdulrahman, the head of the Observer Group, said that since the end of 2022, the militants have increased operations against the forces in Idlib in view of the rapprochement between Ankara and Damascus. He said that since the beginning of the year, 60 people have been killed in clashes and exchange of fire between factions and forces, while one of the dead militants was a French citizen.
