How to Set Up Notifications for New Articles
Feedly can notify you when a new article shows up in your Feeds. This post covers some of the different methods of setting up push notifications.
How to Set Up Notifications for New Articles
Feedly makes it easy to compile your news sources in one place, prioritize what's most important, and share content with your teammates and friends. But for some of you, that's not enough - you also want to be notified when Feedly AI adds new articles to your feeds.
Historically, Feedly has always backed off of notification systems, given our mission to reduce noise and simplify content consumption. However, if your job relies on staying informed, we understand you may want notifications anyway.
With that, we have created triggers through IFTTT and Zapier so you can create push notifications directly from your Feedly account. Here are four ways to create Feedly notifications:
Configure iOS Push Notifications
If you're like the average American and spend much of your screen time on your smartphone, you may want to add Feedly notifications to your device. Using IFTTT, you can set up push notifications for iOS devices. One benefit of this approach is you are in control of what notifications you receive. You can set up this automation, plus browse others, here.
Send new articles to email
Think of this option as your personally-created email newsletter to yourself. Instead of dozens of news alerts in your inbox that you consistently archive, you can set up email notifications based on your Feedly via Zapier. This works for Gmail and Outlook.
Send new articles to messaging platforms
As you are collaborating around almost everything in your messaging platforms anyway, you might as well deliver topics of interest straight to your channels. Ranging from Slack to Microsoft Teams, there are plenty of ways to deliver your team the articles they need right when they are posted.
Get notified when your teammate leaves a note
Never miss out on important conversations by setting up a trigger to notify you anytime one of your teammates leaves a note on an article. You can send these notifications to your email, phone, messaging, or CMS platforms - it’s up to you!
Need more notifications? We're always updating our triggers on IFTTT and Zapier, so feel free to leave us your requests at teams@feedly.com!
