Maryam Nawaz, senior vice president and chief organizer for the PML-N, attacked PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Thursday, claiming that the "flawed policies" of the previous government were to blame for the catastrophic situation the nation was in. Criticizing the PTI leader, the PML-N leader insisted that "your merciless theft, incompetence, erroneous preferences, severe contract with IMF and its violation" had led the nation down the path of economic hardship. Maryam responded to Imran's post by requesting that he "keep quiet and sit," saying that the PDM government was working to make up for past errors.

Look at the haughtiness! You are blaming those who are attempting to clean up your "filth" for the muddle you caused. Sit and don't speak. In addition, making fun of Imran, the PML-N senior vice president urged the PTI chairman to remember those who "handpicked" him to lead the nation and brought about all the "chaos". And let's not forget to give thanks to everyone who contributed to the chaos, including those who handpicked and supported you for four years and the lingering effects of their power in the judiciary, on which you are now relying. I, in Allah's name, won't permit it to occur.

Previously, in a tweet, Imran had blamed the existing setup guilty for the economic crunch, adding that the incumbent PDM government had "practically murdered the rupee in the last 11 months". He claimed that as a result of the steps taken by the current administration, the country's debt had climbed by Rs1.4 trillion and inflation had soared to 31.5%, the highest level in the previous 75 years. The former army leader had "installed criminals on the country," he said, and the country was now paying a "heavy price" for the "plot" that brought about the regime change.

Imran has no right to criticize the economic policies of the current administration, which has been working to clean up the "mess" the PTI regime caused during its four-year rule, according to Minister of Media and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb. She paradoxically claimed in a tweet that a "shameless person" who personally contributed to the nation's economic crisis had the guts to point the finger at others. Along with wrecking the economy, Imran also "plunged the country into political and constitutional issues," she continued.
