Preparing to Drop a New Inflation Bomb on the Public
The Shahbaz government has prepared to drop a new bomb of inflation on the people and a mini-budget of 150 to 200 billion rupees has been prepared which will be brought through an ordinance this month.
According to the information received from the Ministry of Finance sources, the PDM government has already prepared to drop a new inflation bomb on the people under the unbearable burden of inflation, for which 150 to 200 billion rupees. A mini-budget has been prepared and this mini-budget will be brought through an ordinance this month.
Sources in the Ministry of Finance say that a flood levy will be imposed on imports through this mini-budget. Flood levy will be levied on furnished products including imported raw materials.
Sources say that through an ordinance, a flood levy of up to three percent will be imposed on imported luxury items and a one percent flood levy will also be levied on imported goods on which customs duty is zero. Apart from this, flood levy is also likely to be imposed at the local level and flood levy will be imposed on foreign exchange profits of banks.
According to the sources, the IMF has also been taken into confidence on the mini-budget, and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has also given a briefing to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in this regard.
