Why Summer Is Different

School holidays mean families travelling together, which means larger vehicles are in higher demand and booked out faster than usual. Add in weddings, festivals, and general holiday season traffic on the roads to Heathrow, and last minute bookings become genuinely risky rather than just inconvenient. A Heathrow airport transfer that would take forty five minutes in quieter months can stretch well past an hour during peak summer traffic.

Book Further Ahead Than You Think You Need To

During summer, two to three weeks ahead is a safer window than the usual five to seven days we'd recommend the rest of the year. This gives you first choice of vehicle size, particularly important if you're travelling with multiple suitcases, prams, or a larger family group needing an estate or larger vehicle.

Factor In Extra Journey Time

Roads around Surrey, Hampshire, and West Sussex get noticeably busier in summer, especially on weekends and around bank holidays. A properly experienced airport transfer from Haslemere provider builds this seasonal traffic pattern into your pickup time automatically, so you're not the one having to guess at extra buffer time.

Weddings and Events Add to the Demand

Summer is also peak wedding and event season, which means transfer vehicles booked for guest transport compete directly with regular travellers for availability. If you're coordinating group transport for an event, booking even earlier than the standard recommendation gives you the best shot at securing the right vehicles.

Returning Home Matters Just as Much

Don't forget the return leg. Booking both your outbound and return airport transfer together during summer is especially valuable, since last minute return bookings during peak season are the most likely to run into availability issues.

Beat the Summer Rush

At 3Cat, we see summer bookings climb every year, and the travellers who book earliest are always the ones with the smoothest experience. Book your summer Heathrow transfer now, while there's still good vehicle availability for your dates.
